چکیده

Identifying key yield components can help establish better crop management strategies to increase crop yield. The present research was conducted in south-western Saskatchewan in 1999 and 2000 to determine the interrelationships among various yield components and their direct and indirect effects of each component on seed yield of field pea (Pisum sativum L.). The semi-leafless cultivar Carrera was planted at the populations of 35, 50, 65 and 80 plants m on conventional summerfallow (CS) and no-till wheat stubble (NT). The 2 coefficients (b values) from path analyses revealed that the seed yield of field pea depended primarily upon total number of pods per unit area (b = 1.41 for the pea on CS and 1.39 on NT) and secondarily upon seeds per pod (b = 0.59 for the pea on CS and 0.44 on NT). The association between weight per seed and yield was either weak (b = 0.14 for the pea on CS) or negligible (b = 0.07 for the pea on NT). Among the various yield-related variables, total number of pods per unit area was the greatest yield contributor that largely relied on plants m 2 (b = 1.35 for the pea on CS and 0.97 on NT) and on pods plant (b = 0.78 for the pea on CS and 0.74 on NT). 1 Plants m had a negative, indirect effect through pods plant , as did pods plant through plants m , but 2 1 1 2 those indirect effects were counterbalanced by the direct effects of the components on total pod production. Weight per seed was highly and positively related to the length of reproductive growth. Seed yield in a dry environment can be increased by increasing pod production, whereas weight per seed can be improved by prolonging reproductive growth to increase the cotyledon cell size.

This research aimed to determine the effects of different cover crops and application ofbio-fertilizer on dynamic of nitrogen in the soil and sweet maize yield. Also, we evaluated theeffect of fall–winter species (common vetch, field pea, winter oats, fodder kale) and a mixtureof vetch and field pea with oats used as cover crops, as such as dead organic mulch andtraditional variant, without cov...

Milk Production and Composition, and Intake of Holstein Lactating Cows Fed Diets with Partial Substitution of Soybean Meal with Flaked Field Pea

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of a partial substitution of soybean meal with field pea (Pisum sativum) in Holstein lactating dairy cow diets on dry matter intake, milk yield and composition, blood metabolites, rumen ammonia-N concentration and pH. Eighteen lactating Holstein cows were randomly assigned into three groups based on parity, days in milk, and mil...

The effect of Dietary Fiber Source and Threonine Level on Growth Performance, Nutrients Digestibility and Digesta Characteristics of Broiler Chickens in a Period of 24 Days

The aim of this study was to survey the effect of different dietary fiber source and thereonine levels on growth response, nutrients digestibility and some digesta characteristics of broiler chickens. A total of 180 day-old male Ross 308 chicks were used  in a completely randomized design with a factorial arrangement of 2×3 with 4 replicates of 6 birds each for a period of 24 days. The diets co...

In order to investigate the effects of deficit nitrogen application on growth and yield in sole cropping and intercropping of canola and pea, a factorial experiment was conducted as randomized complete block design with three replications at Shahrekord University Research Farm, Sharekord, Iran during 2011- 2012 growing season. Five planting ratios (100% canola 66% canola + 33% pea, 50% canola +...
